Retatrutide for Sale: What You're Actually Buying Online and What to Check First

Retatrutide for sale online isn't Lilly's drug. See what the vials really are, the legal routes in, how to read a batch test report, and the red flags to avoid.

Search for retatrutide for sale and you'll find dozens of shops, but none of them sell Lilly's drug. No approved version of retatrutide exists anywhere, and Lilly's own July 2026 release says it "cannot be legally sold or marketed for human use." What those shops sell are vials of freeze-dried powder labeled as retatrutide, made with no regulator checking how, usually with a label saying the contents aren't meant for people.

Key takeaways

  • Every vial sold online as retatrutide comes from someone other than Lilly, which says the drug cannot be legally sold or marketed for human use.
  • The FDA sent warning letters over online retatrutide in December 2024, March 2026 and August 2026, and says lab-only labels don't make those sales legal.
  • A batch report showing 99% purity says nothing about sterility or endotoxins, and 3 of the 4 seller pages we checked didn't show either test.
  • Lilly's expanded access program exists, but it's for adults with a BMI of 35 or more, two serious weight-related conditions, and a doctor who applies for them.
  • Approved options you can buy today with a prescription start at $149 a month self-pay on the manufacturers' own price lists.

The demand makes sense. In Lilly's TRIUMPH-1 trial, 2,339 adults were randomized, and people on the 12 mg dose lost 28.3% of their body weight on average over 80 weeks. That's Lilly's own drug, given by trial doctors. Nothing on this page tells you whether a vial from a website behaves the same way, because nobody has tested that in people.

Is retatrutide for sale legally anywhere?

No. Lilly's retatrutide FAQ, updated July 2026, says it "has not been approved by any regulatory agency and is legally available only through Lilly's clinical trials." The same page says anything sold to consumers outside those trials is illegal, "with no way to verify its safety, purity or dosing."

The US closes the other door people ask about. The FDA's page on unapproved GLP-1 drugs (current as of September 1, 2026) says retatrutide cannot be used in compounding under federal law, so a pharmacy can't legally make it for you either. That page also says the FDA has warned telehealth companies that marketed retatrutide to consumers, suppliers who sold it to compounders, and outsourcing facilities that repackaged it.

Other regulators say much the same. Health Canada listed retatrutide among the unauthorized injectable peptides it has seized, in an April 2026 warning. Australia's TGA named retatrutide in a June 2026 statement with the country's Chief Medical Officer about unapproved peptides. Our page on whether retatrutide is legal goes country by country.

There are two, and in practice both run through Lilly.

Clinical trials

On September 29, 2026, ClinicalTrials.gov listed 2 retatrutide studies as recruiting, and only one of them is Lilly's. That one is SYNERGY-Outcomes (NCT07165028), a Phase 3 liver study for adults with fatty liver disease at higher risk of liver complications, testing retatrutide and tirzepatide against placebo at 563 listed sites, 142 of them in the US. The other listing (NCT07467447) is a Phase 2 obesity study at 1 site in Shenzhen, China, sponsored by Hudson Biotech rather than Lilly. None of the TRIUMPH obesity trials is still recruiting. In a Lilly trial you might get placebo, and you'll have scheduled visits, but the drug is Lilly's own. Our guide to finding a retatrutide trial near you shows how to search and what to ask a site.

Expanded access

Lilly registered a pre-approval expanded access program (NCT07629401) in June 2026. It's narrow. The record lists these criteria:

  1. Age 18 or older.
  2. A BMI of 35 or more despite sticking with the highest available dose of an approved weight-loss drug.
  3. Two or more serious or life-threatening obesity-related conditions being treated.
  4. Unable to join a retatrutide trial, because you don't qualify or no site is reasonably close.
  5. Every standard option, bariatric surgery included, already discussed with you.

Your doctor makes the request, not you. The record says treating physicians contact the Lilly Answers Center at 1-800-545-5979, and patients are directed back to their own doctor.

Waiting for approval

Lilly said on July 23, 2026 that it plans to submit retatrutide to the FDA in Q1 2027 as a biologics license application (BLA), once it finishes the manufacturing part of the package. FDA review comes after that. Lilly hasn't announced a launch date or a price.

What you're actually buying when you order reta online

On September 29, 2026, the top results for "retatrutide for sale" and "reta peptide buy" on DuckDuckGo and Bing were mostly peptide shop product pages, sold in vials from 5 mg to 60 mg. Every product page we opened carried a label saying the contents are for lab work only and not for people.

That label doesn't change what the FDA thinks you're buying. In a March 31, 2026 warning letter to one retatrutide seller, the FDA said evidence from the site showed the products were intended as drugs for human use, despite labeling saying otherwise, which made them unapproved new drugs. An August 24, 2026 letter to another seller listed a product called "GLP-3 Reta" among the unapproved drugs. In December 2024, the FDA posted four warning letters to companies selling unapproved GLP-1s, including retatrutide. The FDA's GLP-1 page says these products have been sold directly to consumers for human use with dosing instructions, and it urges people not to buy them.

The UK shows how far the supply chain stretches. In October 2025, the MHRA raided a Northampton warehouse and seized more than 2,000 unlicensed retatrutide and tirzepatide pens waiting to be shipped, alongside tens of thousands of empty pens. In May 2026 it raided a second site near Northampton, one it believes was making retatrutide and tirzepatide products, and recovered around 12,000 doses of unlicensed weight-loss medicines. Lilly sells no retatrutide product of any kind, so any retatrutide pen on the market isn't Lilly's.

What can go wrong with a vial of reta

Lilly's FAQ lists the problems it sees with illicit retatrutide: unknown ingredients, harmful contaminants and impurities, too much or too little active ingredient, or the wrong ingredient entirely. Health Canada's April 2026 warning goes further and names contaminants it worries about in unauthorized peptides, including solvents, heavy metals, particles of glass or plastic, bacteria, fungi and endotoxins (fever-causing fragments of bacteria).

Australia has already seen both problems. On September 14, 2026, the TGA reported testing an unmarked vial sold as retatrutide after the person who used it had uncontrollable vomiting, tore their esophagus and needed hospital treatment. The vial held no retatrutide at all, and semaglutide at about 8 times the level in approved semaglutide products. Separately, Victoria's health department has linked 6 cases of acute liver injury since January 2026 to products labeled Retatrutide, Reta, R-10 or R-20, possibly from a contaminant, according to its June 2026 alert.

Sterility is the part nobody can see. The TGA says it doesn't know whether injectable peptide products are sterile or made under clean conditions, and that many arrive as powders in poorly labeled or unmarked vials. An injection skips some of the body's defenses against germs and toxins, a point the FDA makes in both 2026 warning letters.

Dosing is the other risk. Online vials arrive as powder that you mix with water yourself, so a slip in the math changes every dose that follows. The FDA has received reports of adverse events, some needing hospital care, that may be linked to people measuring the wrong dose of compounded semaglutide. That's class evidence from semaglutide, not retatrutide, but the mixing math is the same problem. The same FDA page recommends throwing out a multi-dose vial 28 days after first use, and not using an injectable GLP-1 drug that arrives warm.

Get medical help now

Get urgent care for belly pain that won't let up (with or without vomiting), vomiting or diarrhea that stops you keeping fluids down, a fever or a hot, spreading, painful area around the injection spot, or swelling of the face or throat, a rash all over, or trouble breathing. Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine or easy bruising can mean liver injury. If you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea, shakiness, sweating and confusion can mean low blood sugar. Tell the doctor exactly what you injected and where it came from.

How to check a retatrutide seller before you buy

We can't make an unapproved vial safe, and a checklist won't either. What a checklist can do is catch the sellers who aren't even trying. People who buy anyway tend to look for a batch-specific test report from an independent lab, and our page on retatrutide testing explains how to read one line by line. A useful report covers:

  • identity, usually by mass spectrometry, showing the molecule's weight matches retatrutide
  • purity, usually by HPLC, as a percentage
  • the actual amount in the vial, measured in mg, compared with the label
  • endotoxin and sterility results, where the seller has paid for them

Then match the batch or lot number on the report to the number on your vial. A report for a different batch tells you about somebody else's vial.

We looked at 4 top-ranking seller pages that listed a 10 mg price on September 29, 2026. One linked batch reports that it said included endotoxin and sterility testing. Two showed a purity figure, and one of those also gave a measured content of 10.68 mg for a vial labeled 10 mg, but neither listed endotoxin or sterility. One showed no batch-specific report at all. A headline of "99% pure" was common, and it says nothing about bacteria.

Red flags

  • No batch report, or one report reused across batches, sizes and months
  • A report whose lot number doesn't match the vial, or can't be checked with the lab that issued it
  • Claims that the product is approved, "pharmaceutical grade" or made by Lilly
  • Lilly branding, or retatrutide sold in a pen
  • A price far below what other sellers charge
  • No street address, phone number or working way to reach anyone

Our retatrutide vendors page covers how people vet sellers in more depth, without naming or ranking any.

Retatrutide price, and the approved options it competes with

On September 29, 2026, the 10 mg vials on those 4 seller pages ran from $69.99 to $159.90. There's no official price to set them against: Lilly says it will price retatrutide after the trials and regulatory review. Our retatrutide price page tracks what's known and what the vial math works out to.

Approved drugs in the same family do have published self-pay prices. These are the manufacturers' own, checked on September 29, 2026, and all need a prescription:

RouteWhat you getCostWho checks it

Vial sold online as retatrutidePowder of unknown content$69.99 to $159.90 per 10 mg vial on the pages we checkedNobody

Our read: one online vial costs $69.99 to $159.90, and the cheapest approved option above is $149 a month. The price gap is small next to the gap in what you know about the contents, so if cost is what's pushing you online, take the self-pay prices above to a doctor first.

What no test report can tell you

We couldn't find a peer-reviewed study that tested the retatrutide people buy online. The TGA's single vial is the only published lab result from a regulator we found. A seller's report covers one batch at one moment, tested by a lab the seller chose and paid, and it can't show how the powder was stored or shipped before it reached you.

Even a genuine, matching report leaves a lot open. Lilly's trials tested its own formulation at set doses with doctors watching for side effects, and that safety record belongs to Lilly's product. A vial that passes identity and purity tests is chemically closer to it, but it hasn't been tested in people.

Our read: 3 of the 4 seller pages we checked showed no sterility or endotoxin result, and the vial the TGA tested held no retatrutide at all. A matching batch report is the least you'd want, and it still proves little about the vial in your hand. The only routes to Lilly's actual drug before approval are a trial or expanded access, and our where to buy retatrutide guide sets out every route side by side, legal and not, with what each one costs you in risk.

Frequently asked questions

Can you buy retatrutide online?

You can find vials labeled as retatrutide online, but none of them are Lilly's product and none are approved anywhere. Lilly says retatrutide is legally available only to people in its clinical trials, and the FDA has sent warning letters to US sellers of it. What arrives is a vial of powder from a peptide seller, with no regulator checking what's inside.

Who sells retatrutide?

Only Lilly makes the real drug, and it supplies it only to its trials and its expanded access program. Everything else is sold by peptide websites, often with labels saying the vial isn't meant for people. We don't name, rank or review any of them.

How do I buy retatrutide legally?

Right now you can't buy it legally anywhere. You can join a Lilly trial (on September 29, 2026, ClinicalTrials.gov listed 1 recruiting, a liver study) or, if you meet strict criteria, have your doctor ask Lilly about expanded access. Lilly plans to file for US approval in Q1 2027.

How much retatrutide to buy?

There's no approved dose to plan around. In TRIUMPH-1, people took 4 mg, 9 mg or 12 mg once a week, reached in steps, with trial doctors watching them. We don't turn trial doses into a shopping list; a doctor can go through approved drugs that come with set doses and a label.

Is GLP-3 the same as retatrutide?

When people search for GLP-3 they almost always mean retatrutide. Lilly calls GLP-3 a scientifically inaccurate nickname and prefers triple agonist, because retatrutide acts on the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. A vial sold as GLP-3 carries the same legal and quality problems as one sold as retatrutide.

When will retatrutide be sold in pharmacies?

Not before the FDA approves it. Lilly said in July 2026 that it plans to submit its application in Q1 2027, and FDA review takes months after that. Lilly hasn't given a launch date or a price.
