Where to Buy Retatrutide Online: Every Route, and Which Ones Are Real
Where to buy retatrutide in 2026: no pharmacy can sell it yet. See the 2 routes to the real drug, what online reta vials are, and checks before any purchase.

- When you'll be able to buy it at a pharmacy
There's no legal place to buy retatrutide yet. No approved version exists anywhere, and Lilly says it's "legally available only through Lilly's clinical trials," so the honest answer to where to buy retatrutide is a trial site or, for a small group of very sick adults, a doctor's request for expanded access. Every vial sold online as retatrutide, "reta" or "GLP-3" comes from somewhere else.
Key takeaways
- Only 2 routes lead to Lilly's retatrutide: a clinical trial or single-patient expanded access, which your doctor has to request.
- The FDA says retatrutide cannot be used in compounding under federal law, so a telehealth offer of compounded retatrutide isn't a legal shortcut.
- Vials sold as reta or GLP-3 on peptide websites, marketplaces and group chats come from the same unregulated supply, and regulators in 4 countries have acted against it.
- If you're weighing a seller anyway, a test report only counts when it's from an independent lab and its batch number matches your vial.
- At the top trial dose, a month of online vials can cost about as much as self-pay Zepbound, which comes with a label and a pharmacy.
People still find sellers in a few minutes of searching, so this page maps every place you might look and says what you'd actually get at each one. If you end up weighing an online seller anyway, the checks near the end are the ones that matter.
Where to buy retatrutide legally right now
Retatrutide is Lilly's investigational triple agonist, still in Phase 3 trials. Lilly's own FAQ, updated July 2026, says it "has not been approved by any regulatory agency" and that "anything sold to consumers outside of those trials is illegal, with no way to verify its safety, purity or dosing." Its July 2026 trial announcement puts it more bluntly: retatrutide "cannot be legally sold or marketed for human use."
That leaves 2 lawful routes to Lilly's drug:
- Enroll in a clinical trial that tests retatrutide.
- Have your doctor request single-patient expanded access from Lilly, if you meet its criteria.
Regulators elsewhere agree. The MHRA says any product sold in the UK claiming to contain retatrutide outside authorized trials is "likely to be illegal." Health Canada lists retatrutide among unauthorized injectable peptides it has seized, and Australia's TGA named it in a June 2026 warning about unapproved peptides. Country-by-country rules, including Mexico, are on our availability by country page.
Every place people look, compared
Here's what each route gives you, based on what Lilly and the regulators have published.
| Where you look | Lawful route? | What you get | What it costs you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lilly clinical trial | Yes | Lilly's drug or placebo, with medical monitoring | Nothing for the drug; time and clinic visits |
| Lilly expanded access | Yes, if you qualify and Lilly agrees | Lilly's drug for 1 patient, requested by a doctor | Not published |
| Your doctor or a pharmacy | No product to prescribe | A prescription for an approved drug instead | Normal prescription costs |
| Telehealth or compounding pharmacy | No; FDA says it can't be compounded | Unapproved retatrutide from a source you can't check | Monthly fees, plus legal and quality risk |
| Peptide websites selling "reta" or "GLP-3" | FDA has sent warning letters | Freeze-dried powder in a vial, unverified | Vial price plus water, syringes and testing |
| Amazon and other marketplaces | No approved product to list | Same unregulated supply, if anything | Same risks, fewer ways to trace the seller |
| Gyms, social media, group chats | No | Unknown contents, no batch records | Highest risk; nobody to hold responsible |
The top 2 rows are the only ones that lead to Lilly's molecule. Your doctor's row leads to an approved drug instead, and every row under it ends with a vial whose maker you can't identify.
Getting into a Lilly trial or expanded access
Trials first. When we searched ClinicalTrials.gov for retatrutide on September 27, 2026, it returned 33 records, 2 of them recruiting. One is a Phase 2 study at a single site in Shenzhen, China, from a sponsor that isn't Lilly. The other is the only Lilly treatment trial still recruiting: a master protocol for adults with fatty liver disease (MASLD) at higher risk of liver damage, testing tirzepatide, retatrutide and placebo. It plans to enroll about 4,500 people, and 492 sites were listed as recruiting, 136 of them in the US. You'd need a specific level of liver fat and scarring on screening tests, and some people get placebo. Lilly's other retatrutide trials, including the TRIUMPH obesity studies, have either finished or stopped recruiting.
To look for yourself, search "retatrutide" on ClinicalTrials.gov, filter for "Recruiting," and call the site nearest you. The study team makes the call on whether you fit.
Expanded access is narrower. Lilly's program, listed on ClinicalTrials.gov since June 2026, is for adults who:
- have a BMI of 35 or more despite taking the highest available dose of an approved weight-loss drug
- have 2 or more serious or life-threatening obesity-related complications
- can't join a retatrutide trial, because they don't meet its criteria or no site is close enough
- have discussed every standard option with their doctor, bariatric surgery included
Requests come from a doctor, and the listing gives Lilly's line for physicians, 1-800-545-5979. Our how to get retatrutide guide walks through both routes step by step, and the retatrutide prescription page covers what to ask your doctor.
Telehealth and compounding pharmacies can't sell it
This is the route that looks most official, so it's worth being blunt. The FDA's page on unapproved GLP-1 drugs, current as of September 1, 2026, says: "Retatrutide and cagrilintide cannot be used in compounding under federal law." It adds that retatrutide is not a component of any FDA-approved drug and hasn't been found safe and effective for any condition.
The FDA says it has already warned telehealth companies for marketing retatrutide directly to consumers, ingredient distributors for selling it to compounders, and outsourcing facilities for repackaging it. A clinic that offers "compounded retatrutide" with a prescription attached is selling the same unapproved drug as a peptide website, with a monthly fee on top.
Peptide websites, Amazon and Reddit
Most search results for "where to buy reta" are peptide sellers. What they ship is freeze-dried powder in a small glass vial, often with a label saying it isn't meant for people, even when the product page talks about weight loss and dosing.
The FDA doesn't accept that label. Its GLP-1 page says companies selling retatrutide and similar drugs with those disclaimers have been sending them "directly to consumers for human use with dosing instructions," and it urges people not to buy them. In an August 2026 warning letter to one seller of a product called "GLP-3 Reta (Retatrutide)," the FDA pointed out that the site also sold bacteriostatic water for mixing, "providing the means to prepare an injectable drug for human administration." That was not the first round: on December 17, 2024, the FDA posted 4 warning letters to companies selling semaglutide, tirzepatide or retatrutide.
Amazon comes up because people search "Amazon reta." Most of those results turn out to be about a line that shows up on card statements for Amazon purchases, and have nothing to do with the drug. No pharmacy, Amazon's included, can dispense retatrutide, because there's no approved product.
Reddit is where many buyers compare notes. Threads on r/Retatrutide asking for a "legit" or "reliable" source are easy to find, next to posts asking whether a price is normal. That tells you what people are looking for. It can't tell you what's in the vial. We explain how sellers operate, without naming any, on our retatrutide vendors page.
What the regulators have found
Here are the main regulator actions and warnings that name retatrutide, oldest first, as of September 2026.
| Date | Regulator | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| Dec 2024 | FDA | 4 warning letters posted to companies selling unapproved semaglutide, tirzepatide or retatrutide |
| Oct 2025 | MHRA (UK) | Raid on a Northampton facility; more than 2,000 unlicensed retatrutide and tirzepatide pens seized, plus tens of thousands of empty pens |
| Apr 2026 | Health Canada | Warning naming retatrutide among seized injectable peptides |
| May 2026 | MHRA (UK) | About 12,000 doses of unlicensed weight-loss drugs seized at a site believed to make retatrutide and tirzepatide; 2 people arrested |
| Jun 2026 | TGA (Australia) | Joint warning with the Chief Medical Officer naming retatrutide |
| Jun 2026 | Victoria health department (Australia) | Alert on 6 cases of acute liver injury since January 2026 in people who used products labelled Retatrutide |
| Aug 2026 | FDA | Warning letter to a seller of "GLP-3 Reta" vials |
| Sep 2026 | TGA (Australia) | Lab test of a vial sold as retatrutide after a buyer was hospitalized: no retatrutide, undeclared semaglutide |
The harms they describe are specific. Health Canada warns that unauthorized peptide injections can contain too much, too little or none of the ingredient, and contaminants such as solvents, heavy metals, particles of glass or plastic, bacteria and endotoxins. The TGA says reports and hospital data in Australia have linked unapproved peptides to liver damage and severe allergic reactions needing hospital care. Its statement doesn't break those cases down by product, but Victoria's health department did: it linked 6 cases of acute liver injury to products labelled Retatrutide, possibly from a contaminant, and says all such products are at risk.
The TGA's September 14, 2026 alert shows the other failure. A person who used a product sold as retatrutide had uncontrollable vomiting that tore their esophagus and needed hospital treatment. When the TGA tested the vial, it held no retatrutide at all, and semaglutide at about 8 times the level found in approved semaglutide products.
Dosing is its own problem. With vials, you mix the powder and measure each dose in syringe units. The FDA has received reports of side effects, some needing hospital care, that may be linked to dosing mistakes with compounded semaglutide. That's class evidence from a similar drug, not retatrutide data.

Call a doctor or go to urgent care if, after an injection, you have severe belly pain that won't ease (with or without vomiting), you can't keep fluids down, the injection site turns hot, red, swollen and spreading or you get a fever, your skin or eyes turn yellow or your urine goes dark, or you have swelling of the face or throat, trouble breathing or a spreading rash.If you're weighing a seller anyway
Some readers will buy regardless, and a careful buyer is safer than a careless one. None of this makes a vial safe or legal. It only screens out the worst of it.
What a useful test report shows, for the exact batch in your hands:
- identity: mass spectrometry confirming the peptide is retatrutide
- purity: an HPLC result for that batch
- amount: how many milligrams are really in the vial, compared with the label
- endotoxin or sterility testing, where the seller offers it
- an independent lab's name and a batch number that matches the vial
Identity is first on that list for a reason. The vial the TGA tested would have failed it.
Walk away if you see any of these: no batch report, one report reused across every batch, claims of approval or "pharmaceutical grade," Lilly's name or pen designs on the packaging, prices far below other listings, and no way to contact the seller. The FDA also advises against using any injectable GLP-1 that arrives warm, and says to throw out a multi-dose vial 28 days after first use, even if some is left. Our retatrutide testing guide explains how to read a report line by line.
On price: in search results we checked on September 27, 2026, single 10 mg vials were listed from about $30 to $125, with multi-vial kits cheaper per vial. The top dose in TRIUMPH-1 was 12 mg once a week, or 48 mg every 4 weeks, which is almost 5 of those vials, or about $144 to $600 a month at those prices. For comparison, as of September 2026, Lilly's self-pay Zepbound (tirzepatide) starts at $299 a month for the 2.5 mg dose and rises to $449 at 7.5 mg and above, with conditions, and Wegovy pens are $349 a month self-pay after an introductory offer. If you're comparing listings for retatrutide for sale, price a full month at your intended dose and add the cost of testing each new batch.
Our read: at trial doses, online retatrutide isn't the bargain it looks like per vial. The monthly bill can land in the same range as an approved drug that comes with a label, a pharmacist and a recall system. The full cost breakdown is on our retatrutide price page.
When you'll be able to buy it at a pharmacy
Lilly said in its August 2026 results that the data package for obesity, sleep apnea and knee osteoarthritis pain is complete, and that it plans to submit a Biologics License Application to the FDA in the first quarter of 2027. The FDA's review comes after that, so there's no launch date yet, and Lilly hasn't published a price.

What to do in the meantime
If you want weight-loss treatment now, ask your doctor whether an approved drug such as tirzepatide or semaglutide fits you, and ask whether you'd qualify for a retatrutide trial near you. Both questions fit in one appointment.Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy retatrutide?
Nowhere legally, for now. No approved version exists, and Lilly says retatrutide is legally available only through its clinical trials. The 2 real routes are joining a trial or, if you have severe obesity with serious complications, asking your doctor about Lilly's expanded access program.
What is Amazon reta?
Most search results for Amazon reta are about a line on card statements for Amazon purchases, which has nothing to do with the drug. No pharmacy, Amazon's included, can fill a prescription for retatrutide, because there's no approved product to dispense. Anything listed as retatrutide on a marketplace comes from the same unregulated supply as peptide websites.
Where do people on Reddit buy reta?
Threads asking for a reliable reta source are easy to find on r/Retatrutide. Any seller discussed there is a peptide seller, not Lilly or a licensed pharmacy. Reddit advice can tell you what other buyers report, but it can't tell you what's in your vial.
Where can I buy GLP-3?
GLP-3 isn't a real drug class. Lilly calls it a scientifically inaccurate nickname for triple agonists like retatrutide. Products sold as GLP-3 are unregulated vials, and the FDA sent a warning letter in August 2026 to a seller of vials labeled GLP-3 Reta.
Can my doctor prescribe retatrutide?
Not as a normal prescription, because there's no approved product for a pharmacy to fill. Your doctor can check whether you fit a trial, request expanded access from Lilly if you meet its criteria, or prescribe an approved drug such as tirzepatide or semaglutide.
Is there an official retatrutide website?
Lilly doesn't sell retatrutide on any website. Its public information page is a question-and-answer page on lilly.com, and trials are listed on ClinicalTrials.gov. A site selling retatrutide is not Lilly and is not supplying Lilly's product.
